'Les Miz': Is this the face of this year's best picture winner?

While we were devoting our full attention and energy last week to the Emmy races in an effort to incorrectly forecast as many categories as possible, much news related to the upcoming big-screen adaptation of "Les Miserables" came down. Its release date was pushed back to Christmas Day. Universal put up a four-minute, extended-look video, ably demonstrating that, unlike other movie musicals, the cast members of "Les Miz" (including such A-listers as Hugh JackmanRussell Crowe and Anne Hathaway) could actually carry a tune.

Now, today, the movie's one-sheet has been revealed, with little Isabelle Allen looking perfectly cast as the young Cosette as (A) her image perfectly mimics the show's iconic Broadwaylogo and (B) you can imagine Allen growing up and becomingAmanda Seyfried, the actress playing the older incarnation of the character in the film.

Is this the face of this year's best picture winner? Consider the other likely nominees in comparison. "Silver Linings Playbook"? (Dancing ... but no singing.) "The Master"? (Characters ... but no narrative.) "Lincoln"? (Daniel Day-Lewis... but no pulse?)

It has been 10 years since "Chicago" won best picture. Could the time be ripe for another musical to step into the spotlight? And isn't it too early for this song to be stuck in our heads? Answers soon.
